Former JLS singer Oritse Williams has been charged with a sexual offence after an allegation of rape at a Wolverhampton hotel, police have confirmed.
The 31-year-old was arrested in 2016 for allegedly assaulting a 20-year-old waitress after promoting his new solo album at Gorgeous club in Wolverhampton.
He was bailed several times but West Midlands police have now confirmed that Williams, of Croydon, South London, has been charged with rape, and Jamien Nagadhana, of Hounslow, West London, has been charged in connection with the incident.
After Williams's initial arrest, the singer's management firm 10 Worlds Music said: "Oritse denies the allegations.
"The matter is in the hands of the police and it would be totally wrong for us to comment any further."
Digital Spy has contacted Williams's reps for comment.
JLS, also featuring Aston Merrygold, Marvin Humes and JB Gill, shot to fame on The X Factor in 2008 before splitting in 2013. They sold 10 million records, scoring four Top 3 albums and five No.1 singles.
