Former football player and current radio pundit Stan Collymore has lashed out at Ian Wright on Twitter.

The two got into an argument on the social media site after Collymore spoke out about Wright and other black football pundits in a recent interview with The Guardian.

"To be a black pundit you either need to be a comedian like Chris Kamara or Ian Wright – guys who have big pearly-white smiles and everyone loves laughing at – or Jermaine Jenas and Alex Scott, who are completely infensive," said Collymore.

Wright responded to Collymore's comments by posting a message on Twitter and tagging the other individuals Collymore mentioned.

It read: "Representation matters. Opportunities matter. I feel sorry for you but you have to let the chip on your shoulder go and take some responsibility for broadcasters and brands won't be associated with you. Everyone should have the opportunity to fight for their cause but the fact that you have to do it at the expense others speaks more about you than all us."

Collymore was quick to fire back, dropping the C-bomb at the end a rather hostile reply.

He wrote: "Black man who works for the overtly racist S** and uses "chip on your shoulder" without any irony. You know what you are Ian, and always have been, which is why only you are employed by every British broadcaster. The epitome a Tom. C**t."

Probably safe to say this won't help him gain any extra broadcast time.

Digital Spy have reached out to Ian and Stan's representatives for comment.
