Warner/Chappell Music Publishing introduced two new co-chairs as we speak in a broadly anticipated resolution.
Sony ATV Music Publishing’s former government Guy Moot lands on the prime spot as co-chair and CEO. He’ll be working the corporate alongside COO Carianne Marshall, who was upped to co-chair within the shakeup.
Variety obtained an internal memo that shared the information with the corporate. Moot shall be changing Jon Platt, who introduced again in September that he shall be shifting on to the highest spot at Sony/ATV.
Martin Bandier, the present CEO, shall be leaving in March as soon as his contract expires.
Both Moot and Marshall will report on to Warner Music chief Steve Cooper. Marshall previously served as a associate at SONGS Music Publishing earlier than it was bought to Kobalt. In the brand new tandem association, Moot will break up his time between London and Los Angeles. Marshall shall be primarily based within the downtown Los Angeles workplace.
The inner memo obtained by Variety described the manager duo as “in contrast to every other in music publishing.” The memo says Moot, and Marshall’s complementary government skills shall be “passionate advocates for the worth of music and proponents of recent expertise.”
“They deliver superbly complementary skills and experiences to the Warner/Chappell tradition – with Guy’s visionary A&R power backed by excellent world operational experience, and Carianne’s entrepreneurial enterprise savvy coupled with impeccable artistic instincts.”
Sounds nice, although shared management roles are sometimes tough enterprise.
Over Moot’s 30-year profession, he has signed or labored carefully with a number of well-known artists and bands together with Amy Winehouse, Ed Sheeran, Mark Ronson and extra.
